Anthony C. Neubauer joined Union Carbide Corporation (UCC) in South Charleston, WV in 1975 after earning his BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. In 1998, he earned a Master of Science degree in Materials Science from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Tony is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of West Virginia and the State of New Jersey.

Tony started his career with UCC as a Rotating Equipment Engineer. In this position, his responsibilities were to provide rotating equipment engineering for UCC domestic and international capital projects from initial conceptual studies through start-up, with technical emphasis on high horsepower, high speed compression systems. Specifically, his responsibilities included application of rotating equipment in chemical processing units, mechanical specification, bid evaluation, purchasing, equipment manufacturing and testing, equipment installation, commissioning, start-up and post start-up troubleshooting and problem diagnosis.

From 1985 through 1990, Tony provided engineering technology and leadership to the UCC's UNIPOL PE and PP post-reaction extrusion and resin and additive handling systems on a global basis. These responsibilities included the design and development of proprietary gear pumps and die plates for underwater pelletizing.

In 1990, Tony transferred to R&D in Bound Brook, New Jersey where he continued his efforts in pelletizing systems technology. In 1992, he received UCC's prestigious "Chairman's Award" for revising extrusion and compounding equipment design, and maintenance and operating procedures which resulted in a dramatic improvement in both internal and license production of polyethylene.

After the merger of UCC and The Dow Chemical Company in 2001, he was assigned as a Research Leader in Polyolefin & Elastomer’s Materials Processing Skill Center. In 2005, he was promoted to the position of Fellow, and was assigned to Core R&D's Materials and Parts Processing Group. Tony retired on September 30, 2013 after 38 years of loyal service.

Tony is recognized as an expert in the mechanical and process design and operation of co-rotating and counter-rotating twin screw extruders, continuous mixers, polymer gear pumps, melt filtration devices, pelletizing die plates, pelletizers and pellet water systems. In 2014, the Society of Plastic Engineers (SPE) inducted Tony as an SPE Fellow-of-the-Society for his demonstrated contributions in the field of plastics engineering and technology.

At the SPE's annual technical conference, ANTEC 2014, he was awarded the SPE Extrusion Division's prestigious 2014 "Heinz List Award" for outstanding achievements in Polymer Devolatilization and Reactive Extrusion.

Tony has authored numerous papers and is listed as an inventor on over 40 granted patents and patent applications. Resume available upon request.
